Office Manager
Tell us about your career so far, what have you learned?
I trained as a cake decorator when I 1st left school, however an almond allergy put pay to continuing in that career.
I then spent 12 years working in the textile industry. On moving to Derbyshire I went to work for a car rental company in their reservations office and then moved into a credit control role a year later. That progressed into becoming a Credit/Legal manager and then to becoming a Receivables Manager for large organisations managing large teams. I spent 3 years contracting prior to the pandemic where I restructured and modernised finance teams.
When the pandemic hit I decided to have a change and moved to 111 spending my time on their front line dealing with medical and mental health calls. Before joining Framework last year and going back to a more normal working life where I now look after all the day to day administration aspects of the business.
Please share a memorable career highlight
Becoming a graduate member of the Chartered Institute of Credit Management, I bought myself a Silver MGTF on passing my final exams to celebrate.
What are you most proud of achieving?
Becoming a Credit Manager within 3 years of going into credit control.
What are your goals for the future?
I now like to enjoy a better work life balance, however since joining Framework I have been given the opportunity to learn new skills in Health & Safety and HR so I suppose my goal there would be to feel as comfortable with these new skills as the ones in my previous roles.
What do you like to get up to outside of work?
Watercolor painting, Cake decorating, escaping out in our caravan as much as possible with my husband and dog Marmite and also spending time with the Steampunk community and making costumes.
